RTW Spotlight: Rainbow Falls Campout

New for the 2017 Ride the Willapa

For those that can’t imagine camping without a cozy fire, being surrounded by a canopy of trees, and the soothing sounds of a river nearby, this Campout is for you.

The Rainbow Falls Campout

No worries, just fun!

Upon arrival to Rainbow Falls, your luggage will be waiting for you – courtesy of our fabulous UPS volunteers.  The Campout will be held in the spacious day-use area of the park – perfect for lawn games, a fun regular-ol’ game of tag, and right by the banks of the Chehalis River. Dinner will be served up hot – a BBQ feast at 5 pm.

Winding down after dinner, listen to some acoustic music and storytelling by the fireside. We’re going to have a few local musicians playing, but we welcome all of our musician riders to bring their talents with them to share in a true camfire jam session.

If all this sounds like an awesome way to close out a great day on the trail, you’re going to want to secure your tent space early – spots are limited!

A Word to the Wise

The $4 fee associated with the Campout registration is PER CAMPER – not per campsite. You’ll be camping in the grassy day-use area of the park.  There are larger, more private campsites, and a handful that have RV hookups. These sites are first-come, first-served; they have their own camping fees associated with them.  For more information about Rainbow Falls – their on-site facilities, larger campsite fees, etc. – check them out at the Washington Parks website.

Other Camping Options

Even though there are only a limited amount of spots at the Rainbow Falls Campout, don’t worry!  You’ve got options.

The Village Festival, back for a second year and better than ever, is a true return to yesteryear with fun activities for the entire familiy. Brought to you by the Pe Ell Active Citizens Committee – come enjoy great food, music, and activities for kids of all ages (including adults) – it will be a great time for all.

Pe Ell Village Festival

A great option that was also available during our flagship Ride, is camping at the school football field in Pe Ell.  There are many dinner and breakfast options available there, showers inside the school, and there will be many, many activities going on in town to keep the kids happy (adults, too).

We look forward to seeing you at the Camp!
